That is why our sizing runs on real weight bands, XS for 3.3-6.6 lb (1.5-3 kg), S for 6.6-13 lb (3-6 kg), M for 13-22 lb (6-10 kg), and L for 22-33 lb (10-15 kg), and why our standing advice is simple: if your cat sits between two sizes, take the larger one and snug it down with the velcro and the adjustment strap.
No harness is 100% escape proof. A determined, panicking cat is a Houdini with claws, and any brand that promises otherwise is selling you a story.
